HOW TO HAVE A GOOD MANAGEMENT OF SOCIAL NETWORKS

Looking to better manage your social media marketing strategies? The secret is quite simple: you have to stay on top of what’s new in order to be relevant and up-to-date, no matter what type of profile you have (personal or corporate).

As simple and easy as it may seem, social media marketing goes far beyond simply creating a post, getting likes, sharing publications and recommendations.

1. INVEST TIME. LOTS AND LOTS OF TIME

As the saying goes: there is no shortcut to success (no matter the field). Social networks are no exception. If you thought anyone could become a master of social media marketing, you’re dead wrong.

The key to success is to put in a lot of time. You have to invest time to understand:

  • Which network (media) allows you to get the most out of social media for your business, as social media work differently for different purposes.
  • How each media allows you to reach your target.

Quick personal tip: list the 3 profiles of people or companies you most aspire to in your niche, study what they do and note their best practices.

2. AUTOMATE YOUR WORK

Technology gives you a lot of latitude… if used in the right way, and quantity (we’re talking about time invested here) doesn’t always rhyme with quality. There are many automation tools and applications available to help you automate your posts and share them on social networks. (it’s right here)

As I mentioned in point 1, the work of creating unique, engaging and captivating content will be necessary. However, you can save yourself the hassle of publishing and sharing by using the right technologies. The time you save can be used to learn more about the technology, or to engage with your subscribers/customers.

3. DON’T BE OMNIPRESENT

A big mistake many people make on social media is trying to be strong on all platforms at once. However, each platform is different and therefore deserves a different approach.

Instagram is different from Facebook. Facebook is different from Twitter. Twitter is not Snapchat, etc. The strategy that worked for one medium might not work for the other.

In order for your social media marketing efforts to be effective, try to focus on one, two or three platforms maximum. Identify the ones that offer the most potential for you and focus your efforts on those rather than too many. The latter option will dilute the effort, the quality and your reach.

Personal tip: try one or two first and once you have mastered them adequately and it is necessary, look for a third.

4. BE PART OF THE COMMUNITY

Social networks were invented to create links, interact with people and get to know their views, moods, ideas and opinions. This is the concept of social community.

In business, you need to build or join a community of like-minded people, meet people in your field, get to know them and become an active contributor to conversations.

Be socially active and try to engage in conversation. Never pass up an opportunity online to get noticed and share your knowledge and expertise.

Asking questions is the best way to engage with people on social media, because it makes people feel valued. Since you are starting with social media marketing, you need to get people to share their thoughts and ideas. Following hashtags on the Twitter chat and getting inspired by questions on medium is a great action to start with.

5. MILESTONES AND INFLUENCERS

When social media users mobilize, things spread faster than fire. Major events reach the world in minutes. Look at the #metoo movement (#moiaussi) which had a major, global positive impact in 2017.

As I mentioned before, in order to be successful in social media marketing, you need to know how to take advantage of this speed. Try to stay on top of trends, business events, and causes that might be related to your industry. All this information you absorb is an opportunity to engage and create current content.

Also, try to capture the attention of industry influencers by mentioning them regularly, tagging them in your posts, sharing their content and actively following them on social media.

6. HAVE A VISUAL IMPACT

The thing to remember here is to focus not only on writing quality content, but also pay attention to the visual aspect of it.

Include videos, banners, infographics, posters and images that attract attention and enhance the visual appeal of your social media posts.

Statistics show that posts with images generate 650% more engagement than posts without images. Here’s an infographic with more interesting statistics.

To become a pro at social media marketing, you need to use a combination of visual and written content.

Search online to see what content is current and maximize the ROI (Return on Investment) of your social media efforts by incorporating quality visuals into your posts.

That’s it! You are ready to conquer the Internet. You just need to follow a clear structure and be very rigorous!
